Today we had St. Patricks’s Day afternoon tea on the lanai!!I love my Irish tea set from Galway. What a beautiful tablescape this set creates. Galway is where my Grandfather’s family hails from, so it just feels good to sip from these cups. St. Patrick’s Day Afternoon Tea Tablescape I laid an Irish linen tablecloth over the […]
We are moving toward the edge of what’s possible here at C8C. Check back often to see what’s new. From today forward, Monday’s will almost always be about DIY style ideas and resources. DIY makes my heart sing…I love creating something from nothing or something for less than I can buy it in a store. […]
This is a sponsored post as part of the Tide Oxi Blogger Challenge by P&G. #TideThat #BrightIdeas All opinions are 100% my own. The Ghosts of Furniture PastTM Epic Fail for Me! I have to admit a mistake. I purchased this beautiful antique pie safe several years ago in Georgia. I was thrilled with it, but was not so savvy in […]
I have always loved color. From my wardrobe to my decorating style, color makes a statement for me. How then did I end up with a blah bedroom? This Wayfair Homemaker was compensated with a gift card to add a pop of color to her bedroom. I fixed it with a beachy spin of the color […]
Gluten Free Blueberry Orange Cake is surprisingly moist with a dense texture and a good hint of orange flavor. It is melt-in-your-mouth good! It is adapted from recipes found on Premeditated Leftovers.
A handmade Christmas is such a blessing for me. Creating something from nothing makes my heart sing. I created some Felt Christmas Trees from Recycled Wool Sweaters a few years ago. All Souls’ Day is also known as the Feast of All Souls, Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed. The day purposely follows All Saint’s Day in order to shift the focus from those in heaven to those in purgatory.
Remembering and honoring the saints, heroes of the faith, and following their examples is a good thing! Many question celebrating the lives of great Christian men and women, yet have no problem fervently celebrating the lives of secular heroes like George Washington. All Saints Day is simply a day to celebrate the lives of all the great heroes of the Christian faith, and to celebrate the deep communion we have with them as they intercede for us.
