Changes are afoot. One of my sons has moved back in with me while between homes of his own. The editing of my home in the 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge is a major change. Together they may bring more challenges. Read my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Manifesto!!
A Recovering Magpie Changes
I am learning the dance of change and how to move easily with the beat. The rhythm of the ebb and flow of life is no longer masked by stuff. I can dance in the middle of my rooms because there is a space for that now that my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge is starting to reveal its magic.
{Coming clean} I have a long way to go! I am giddy at the moment in celebration of 46 days and the beginning of the second half of this challenge.
My Summer Simplifying Challenge
I take the time to look around me this evening. I am beginning to feel at home here. I am feeling the peace that one should feel in their home. I can see what needs to be done without feeling the overwhelm I did a month or so ago. My Summer Simplifying Challenge is revealing things to me I never imagined.

I have a desire to decorate once again for the pure joy of making my space a home. Until I began the 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge, it was just a container for my stuff. It felt more like an overstuffed antique store than a place of rest and peace. I still need loads of editing in the rooms, but the Seeds of the New Me are looking at the process differently. I can edit and pare down the things I no longer need, want or desire in my life.
Things either work or they don’t…it is that simple. Today I start on the shelves in the library. They are a jumbled mess at this point. I am going to do one or two each day until they reflect the joy I feel and the song in my heart. There are decisions to be made and things to let go of, but it is manageable because I know the outcome.
Today’s Accomplishments
- One shelf addressed, sorted and things placed into the ‘outta here’ boxes!
- Household cleaning tasks continue.
Today’s Setbacks
- Dealing with my son moving in was a little chaotic.
