A Recovering Magpie’s Authenticity

I am no usually a trend adopter. I prefer to be a trend setter in my own way. It rings true to my ENFP personality. The trend towards authenticity is different as it defines what I am attempting to do in my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge. 

My authenticity here on Cre8tive Compass is about finding myself and sharing the journey with you. It is not about rejecting the things that no longer serve me, it is opting instead for a return to a life that is unfussy and peace-filled. I know

I am not  unique in my quest. I have observed this conversation about authenticity taking place gradually over the last few years. I believe there is a general movement in blogging away from overdone, fake, polished personas giving way to reveal the real person behind the words.

I am no longer afraid to write about my breakable nature and fallibility. Indeed this Summer Simplifying Challenge has often shown me being emptied of one thing so that I can make room for another, more valuable possession – simplicity..

My Summer Simplifying Challenge

Will I ever be a minimalist? Probably Not. Will my home ever have the sleekness of modernity? Never! I find comfort in the old and worn. The tattered object of yesteryear speak to my soul. I love to be surrounded by things well loved. I am attempting to create a Well-Collected Home.

My Summer Simplifying Challenge has birthed enlightenment along with new paths to follow…eventually. The Well-Collected Home is one of the new paths I intend to take. It will be my new magazine someday. All in good time. All authentic to me and my life.

The 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge continues to bring subtle changes and nuances for me to ponder. I am taking delight in each new offering from the universe. I am filled with joy as I walk through my home. My life blooms before me.

Today’s Accomplishments

1. One box, sorted and things placed into the ‘outta here’ boxes!
2. The house is clean and orderly.

Today’s Setbacks

1. Work. Writing a course sometimes causes me to not want to write my blog post!
