Dance saved my life once. My 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge has been a dance of sorts and the steps lead to healing and simplifying. Read my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Manifesto!!
A Recovering Magpie’s Dance
Someone asked on FaceBook today if dance (ballet) is a sport. I studied ballet for 16 years. For me, dance is a sport and then some!!! I broke my neck when I was 23 and the doctors said I didn’t die or become paralyzed because of my strong neck muscles…from dance!!! Dance saved my life and gave me back my life. It could have been so much worse.
My 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge, is simply a joyful dance. The little baby steps of one box opened and one shelf arranged and one drawer ordered is a dance of a different sort, yet equally important to my wellbeing.
I have gotten really deep in the past few weeks about the inner transformations this process has created. I never intended to make this so personal, nor did I ever imagine the changes it would create in me. Yet it has become a personal journey…a healing dance.
{Coming clean} I dance when the spirit moves me, whenever I can.
My Summer Simplifying Challenge
Dancing down the living room with a gallon Mason jar is not unheard of on the Summer Simplifying Challenge. So many times, I have celebrated the letting go of an item with a little dance. Even if the dance is within my heart…it is a dance nonetheless! And it makes me happy.
In a few days I should be finished opening boxes. I do have a lot to let go of still, but not nearly as much as I arrived with at the start of this journey. Looking around me, I see the progress these tiny baby steps have brought forth. And I dance because I can.
I promise during the last month of my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge to share more of the after photos. The process photos were just abut messes and boxes of stuff. The after images will be more compelling to view.
