I chose to create a stocking for a child whose name was on the Angel Tree at my church. All the names on our tree are worthy recipients who would not have a Christmas celebration without the generosity of people who care. Our recipient matches the Champions for Kids mission because she is among the 15.5 million or approximately 20.7 percent of children in the U.S. live in poverty through no fault of their own!!!
Hubby and I went to Walmart for a stocking and stocking stuffers with a Disney theme. Though this shop is being done through Champions for Kids, it is being sponsored by Disney, so we want to make sure that we include loads of their products in the stocking. And there are so many Disney products to choose from, we felt like kids!!! Please see our entire shopping adventure in photos here.
As you can see, it is not quite a stocking…everything would not fit in the stocking so we placed it in the Disney tote bag…except for the musical brush set that we will attach…
We will deliver it to the church next week for the angel tree deliveries. You never know who the recipient is, but that is okay as the energy of the gifting is what counts. We will continue with Champions for Kids throughout 2012 and beyond!!!
