Yes, innovation continues as design thinking makes me giddy with possibilities. As my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge heads into the final weeks, I am energized or re-energized. Read my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Manifesto!!
A Recovering Magpie’s Innovation
I am full of ideas at the moment. The old me would be completely over the 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge. However, the new me plans to stay the course while dreaming of the future.
{Coming clean} I can dream can’t I?
My Summer Simplifying Challenge
Dreaming is all abut creative thinking for me. I can while away (or is it wile away) hours on the creative thinking while the innovation part often gets shoved aside for some newer creative passion. No longer the case after the hard won life lessons of the Summer Simplifying Challenge. I am on track with baby steps in each pursuit. And that is progress.
Innovation is the implementation part. Remember I suck(ed) at implementation prior to this Summer Simplifying Challenge. All the creative ideas will not be implemented. And that, I have learned, is just fine. But the really good ones will certainly turn into baby steps of innovation around here. I no longer have the need to beat myself up for not chasing after every million dollar idea I have. I am just thrilled to develop one or two. {insert growing edges here}
I am just fine here wrestling with two things: risk-taking and failure aversion. Finding the balance is key to success. I must take risks like I did when I began this 90-Day series of posts. {what was I thinking?} It was a risk proclaiming to you and the world that I would show up every day and write about cleaning up my life. It was a risk thinking I could accomplish said cleaning in just 90 days. It soon became failure aversion when I realized that people were actually reading this series and I better follow through with it or risk looking like a failure. {HORRORS}
So this entire Summer Simplifying Challenge has been about me not looking bad in your eyes? No indeed. It is about me not looking bad in MY eyes. And that is the biggest gift of the summer! {insert wide cat eating canary grin}
