You Have to Want ‘IT’ More Than Food – Weight Loss

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

My Weight Loss Journey

You have to want ‘it’ more than you want food. ‘It’ can be health. ‘It’ can be thin. ‘It’ can be looking hot in new skinny jeans. ‘It’ can be your kids or grandkids. ‘It’ can be whatever motivates you. And ‘It’ is unique for each of us. And ‘IT’ has to be for YOU! ‘ Weight loss is a choice!

I woke up to a rainy, gray Mother’s Day. I wanted to snuggle down in bed. I did not much want to go outside and walk…but I did. And this is what it looks like to be dedicated to achieving ‘IT.’

‘It’ for me is:

  1. Health and Fitness
  2. Watching my Grandchildren grow up
  3. Fitting in to that cute coat on the cover of Soft Surroundings.

Yesterday, I walked 7.8 miles and 16,199 steps. This is a personal best for me. Three and a half months ago (2/1/17), I started my health and fitness journey walking just ½ a mile. Now, I can’t wait to get out in Nature and walk. I can’t wait to make tiny discoveries that I did not notice yesterday. I record them in what I call ‘Morning Meditation’ on Instagram. I have made this weight loss journey fun in my own way. Remember, ‘IT’ is for me! What is your ‘IT’?

I Didn’t Want to Talk About ‘It’ – Weight Loss

As of this morning, I have lost 31.8 pounds by wanting ‘IT’ more than food or comfort or staying in bed on Mother’s Day. ‘It’ drives me. ‘It’ makes me smile. ‘It’ keeps me going.

Weight loss at any age is about choices and motivation. Choices are wrapped up in motivation. Some are easier than others. Some are not! I find myself wanting more mayo or butter. I can have more, if I eat less of something else. It is that simple…and that hard.
