Decorating for Christmas
Nowhere am I happier than in our little Angel Wood Cottage on Amelia Island. Nestled under moss-draped trees by a placid lake, it brings me such pleasure. Decorating her has been a journey of a thousand steps. It is my Well-Collected Home™ lovingly decorated with finds from our wanderings. Today I showcase my beloved kitchen Christmas tree. Oh what joy this room brings to me. and some rollicin’ meals have been created here.
My Kitchen Christmas Tree
As you will see, I like Christmas trees. I have them in every room. Some are my beloved cone trees, some are real trees, and some are faux. All are loved and decorated with care each year. Here is my kitchen Christmas tree decorated with tiny children’s housewares, utensils, cookie cutters, pots and pans, etc. loving collected through the years at estate sales, garage sales, thrift stores.
Oh how I love the hunt. It is so much fun to find a tiny piece that will adorn my kitchen tree. Each year I try to add a new find…sometimes I add several {insert sheepish grin here}. So I will just let you see what tiny treasures cover the tree.
My Favorite Treasures on the Kitchen Christmas Tree
Oh this little beauty…a hand beater with a red handle. It actually works and was from a little girl’s kitchen learning set. I imagine the little hands that whipped up some wondrous creations with this egg beater. It is probably my favorite ‘miniature’ kitchen gadget!
And this tiny (one inch tall) rooster cookie cutter came home with me about 40 years ago from France. I have collected roosters since I studied muraling and decorative painting in Lyon when I was but a child. I have made many cookies with him and count him among my most prized possessions.
Do you have prized possessions? D you have prized possessions that you display on Christmas trees?
Happy Holidays! I am joining a linkup…
This is a fantastic idea! It looks amazing — I need one for my kitchen! Well done!
I have never seen someone do a kitchen tree but this is so unique! I love seeing how people take their passions and decorate something so amazing! Beautiful!
