As my Summer Simplifying Challenge heads into day three, I am moving ahead with a steady determination. I am trying my darndest not to over promise and under deliver. I am also trying to stick to my plan and not overdo.
I tend to overdo. I start out with a bang, go way overboard…then slowly fizzle out when the newness wears away. I am reminding myself that slow and steady will win this race. At least that is what all those highly-organized organizing websites claim. Just do one bag a day, unpack one box each day and you will reach nirvana!!
My Journey with the Summer Simplifying Challenge
Today we dusted…everything. {I say we, I mean HE. I instructed and HIMself performed. Bless his heart!} Yesterday I proclaimed that I suck at simplifying. And that is very true. {Coming clean} However, upon some soul searching and reflection, I must admit, I suck even more at implementation. I am the big idea person, as you can well see displayed herein. While he dusted, I did write over half of an iPhone Photography course for my real job. I can do some things very well if they challenge me. But I digress…
Today’s Accomplishments
- One box of miscellaneous stuff {UGH} unpacked and put away!
- One box of stuff started for the thrift store.
- The entire house dusted as in spring cleaning dusted!
Today’s Setbacks
- I only placed four more things into the ‘outta here’ boxes – that means throw away, give away, trash. But hey, it is two things!!! That is twice as much as yesterday, so I am not sure if this is a setback or an accomplishment…hmmmmmm.
HIMself Speaks
Slowly but surely we are getting there. I know that it will take time, but things are getting more organized day by day. It feels great to organize and simplify. Some days are better than others- depending on what Rebecca finds in the daily box! Hope springs eternal!
