A Recovering Magpie’s Oops!
Tomorrow we have a home inspection by the property management company. This is a disruptive side effect of renting. Every six months they need to come in and wander around to make sure you are not destroying the place. The 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge, working for us may not work for the property management company.
{Coming clean} Some things just throw you off kilter!
My Summer Simplifying Challenge
Back to the ceiling fan. My Summer Simplifying Challenge includes cleaning. HIMself was dusting the ceiling fan with a feather duster when it fell. Now this is a large fan right above the great room coffee table. He was squawking for help and I brought a ladder to help prop it up.
While he wrangled the thing, I dialed the property management company. That is the upside of renting, you have someone to call when things break! As he tried, in vain, to reattach it I received a ping from my supervisor (I work from home). I slid onto the couch to answer her. Himself starts down the ladder, misses his footing and leaps onto me! One foot slid down my arm, the other crashed onto the computer the back on my legs.
There was a lot of screaming and cussing going on as he came to rest fully on top of me. I am sure my arm is broken…he is trying to see if the computer is broken and screaming at me for being on the couch.
The 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge came to a close rapidly after that.
Today’s Accomplishments
- One box, sorted and things placed into the ‘outta here’ boxes!
- Household cleaning tasks iffy!!!
Today’s Setbacks
- Arm is out of commission for now.
