I actually reached Friday of the first week of my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge. That is an amazing accomplishment. You can see exactly what this all about in my Summer Simplifying Challenge & Manifesto.
A Recovering Magpie’s Listens
My heart has been telling me for a long time that I needed to let go of these things that are weighing me down. At one time, I envisioned a life on the road in an RV. The two of us driving along the highways and byways of America learning and growing old together was a fun dream. Today, for this to happen, we would need to drag a large storage van along. {Coming clean} Drag is the operative term here. I have been getting up every day for many years and slinging a huge bag of stuff on my shoulders – my stuff, my Mother’s stuff, my children’s stuff and some stuff I have no idea who it belongs to. Literally, one of the boxes I opened recently, that has been stored for years, contained stuff that was never mine. The only thing I can think of is that it was someone else’s stuff unloaded by a mover from a truck we shared. That was so many moves ago, I have no way of knowing whose stuff it is or even finding out.
My Simple Summer Simplifying Challenge
So I laugh at the silliness of it all. And yes, I am keeping that box of stuff for now…or maybe just one piece to remind me of the mission to let go. The mission is to let the things I no longer need go to a new home…to someone who DOES need them. They have spent their season with me and now it is time to move on.
Today’s Accomplishments
- One more box opened, sorted and things placed into the ‘outta here’ boxes!
- Sheets and laundry done and put back in place.
Today’s Setbacks
- There were no setbacks today. Not sure if I have moved into acceptance or just given up on the need to hold on tightly.
HIMself Speaks
I see progress in the garage.
