90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge ~ Day 7 {Studio}

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

This is the 7th day of the first week of my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge. I am pretty happy with the progress. The take away for the first week: One baby step at a time actually accomplishes big things in the long run. You can see exactly what this all about in my Summer Simplifying Challenge & Manifesto.

A Recovering Magpie’s Creates

I create every day…just not in my studio. Why? {Coming clean} I can’t get in there to create! Oh my this is hard to admit. It is even harder to show the images. I have a Lilliputian sized studio. (It is the smallest spare bedroom.) It would be a good, albiet tiny; diminutive, space if it were not full to the ceiling with…you guessed it…good stuff! ARGHHH I will talk about good stuff tomorrow at length. For now, I am trying to make sense of the good stuff in my studio!

OKAY..it is going to take more than one day here! It may take several.

Today’s Accomplishments

  1. Many boxes opened, sorted and some things placed into the ‘outta here’ boxes!
  2. Kitchen once over!

Today’s Setbacks

  1. This is very hard for me. I love all my studio stuff. Parting with it is painful. I cried many times today as I found stuff that nobody would or should save…only an artist! It is sad. I have issues with studio stuff.

 HIMself Speaks

We have worked about seven hours today so far, and have sorted the majority of Rebecca’s studio items. It really feels good to see things being situated in an orderly fashion. The hardest part is just getting started. Eventually we see marked progress and that it is definitely worth the effort!
