Without failure there would be no breakthrough or resilience and my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge has brought both of these to my mind today. Read my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Manifesto!!
A Recovering Magpie’s Resilience
The 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge has delivered many gifts to my life and home. As you have seen if you have been reading along, there have been a plethora of personal breakthroughs. You have also probably noted that the breakthroughs are rooted in past failures.
{Coming clean} I have failed at this process many times! Today I am nothing if not resilient. This resilience is also a direct result of failures. Having to admit to them is part of my growth with this process. I am finally growing strong in who I am.
My Summer Simplifying Challenge
I am enjoying this getting to know myself during this Summer Simplifying Challenge series of posts. Sometimes I sit down to write something completely different than what happens as I type the words. I am embracing the resilience I feel today. It makes me feel like continuing this process forever. That is a powerful feeling.
I have no idea why I am feeling the power this morning. I completed my usual morning routine, yet this morning’s results feel somehow more empowering. I will need to sit with these feelings a while to fully understand them. I promise to share about the discoveries soon.
Meanwhile, this is about resilience and its effects during my Summer Simplifying Challenge. I often have felt like I was not doing enough. I could have opened four boxes every day. I could have stayed up later into the night working. But I did not. I stayed with the plan and it is giving me resilience. It is a grand circle of sorts…baby steps resulting in more baby steps and feeling of accomplishment bring the desire for more of the results I see with the baby steps. It is indeed resilience that ensues.
Resilience is defined as the ability to spring back into shape; or the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness. I guess there has been a certain ‘toughness’ attitude of getting down to the business of cleaning up my life. It spawns the resilience and the power I feel s much today. The Summer Simplifying Challenge is delivering the exact things I secretly hoped it would. I have less chaos and clutter and more time to enjoy the things that remain. {insert smiles here}
