I am a blogger. When you visit here, you are reading my blog…although I run it like a magazine. Thousands of bloggers just like me are gathering today in New York City for the conference known as BlogHER. This weekend we come together to connect, learn and inspire. President Obama, Martha Stewart and Katie Couric will also be there.
President Barack Obama addresses BlogHer ’12 attendees today at 4:30PM! Regardless your political views, when a President takes time to speak to your group, it matters.
When Martha Stewart is in the house it matters. She will be the opening day lunch keynote speaker. Katie Couric will be our lunch keynote speaker on Saturday. Soledad O’Brien, Christy Turlington Burns and Malaak Compton Rock will be discussing Women Influencers as Change Agents on Saturday afternoon.
The 8th annual BlogHer Conference, the largest audience of influential online women nationwide, will bring 4,000 attendees together with 100 major brand name sponsors and top national media.
Sponsors like Hershey’s, Hot Wheels, Starbucks, Reader’s Digest, T-Mobile, Hillshire Farm & Jimmy Dean, Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo, Walmart Lysol, Microsoft, ECCO, and Mozilla are there to talk about partnering with bloggers. We can workout with US Army Drill Sergeants or have a Just Dance dance-off with our blog buddies.
There are parties sponsored by brands all over Manhattan for the bloggers too. Each party sponsor doles out amazing swag to the invited guests. It is an honor to be invited to one of these events…it means YOU MATTER!
Me? I will be geeking out in New York for BlogHER 2012. I will be tweeting and sharing on Facebook while there. Please follow the hashtag #BlogHER12 on Twitter to gt a feel for what is happening in real time.
What an exciting time it is for bloggers and the brands that bloggers love. There are seminars, classes, meet-and-greets, a trace show and parties!!! It is a chance for people who blog seriously to network, make valuable connections and meet other bloggers. It is 2 days of non-stop adventure and excitement. Visit the BlogHER schedule to see what I will be doing.
