Boomer Geek Girl Giveaway~The New #GoodCall iG1 Bluetooth Handset #Cbias

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

I am excited to be one of the first to try the Good Call Bluetooth Handset for the iPhone. The Good Call Handset will be launched on June 19th at Good Call Website. When I first heard about it on the Social Fabric community, I was intrigued because it enables you to make and receive iPhone calls with a handset receiver. Being an oh so tech-savy Boomer Geek Girl, I wanted to understand this product and then share it with all my children who happen to love their iPhones too. It was a great opportunity to impress them with a not as yet released tech toy!! Those kids are hard to impress!!!And this would be an awesome Father’s Day gift for the Geek in your family!!!

Good Call Giveaway UPDATE

Comment #12 Elena is the Winner of my Giveaway!!! Congratulations

I will be giving one away to one lucky reader who leave a comment below telling me what you love about the Good Call…that’s all you need to do. I will pick a random number winner next Friday night!!!

I was waiting for the brown truck to arrive…my UPS driver posed for me (he knows all about my photo taking by now!!!)

The Good Call iG1

This iPhone bluetooth handset and iPhone docking station looks and acts like a landline receiver. The docking station also charges the iPhone while in the cradle and can sync the phone with iTunes. It does all this wirelessly with Bluetooth technology. Thumbs up!

love it already

It was time to give it a test run in my new house. I have a little problem with reception here. I sometimes miss calls because my phone does not ring. And I have a difficult time hearing the caller too. There is a volume control on the handset plus it is noise canceling. So I was anxious to see if this improved things a bit. It does…so that means a lot to me. Thumbs up!!!

I really hate to have long conversations on my cell phone. I am concerned about the amount of radiation plus it is just plain uncomfortable to hold for long periods. I prefer to have people on speaker, but that often is worse than holding the phone. I really don’t like headsets or earbuds either. I do like a handsfree mode for the ability to take notes while chatting. This is much easier on a handset. A big thumbs up on this front!!!

great packaging

What’s in the Box

Good Call iG1 bluetooth Handset

There are four parts in the Good Call iG1 package: a Bluetooth handset, the charging dock, an AC plug and an USB cord. You can connect the docking station to an electrical outlet or to your computer. That’s a cool feature. There is also a small user manual. It has 4 hours of battery life and a charge indicator. It works with any Bluetooth enabled device and is iPhone multitasking enabled. WOW!

Pairing the Good Call iG1 with My iPhone

It is so easy to get this working. In just a few minutes I was talking on the handset. There are just a few steps on this card…

  1. Plug the USB cable into the AC power adapter to power up the dock.
  2. Place the handset and iPhone into their respective positions in the docking station.
  3. Slide the switch at the bottom of the handset to on  (that’s up)
  4. Press and hold the call button for a few seconds until it makes a startup sound.
  5. Go to  iPhone settings, press bluetooth and Good Call appears in a few seconds.
  6. Select it.

all connected

watch this little movie I made to show how easy it is…

I was talking in a few minutes. I was so excited I was sharing with everyone. HIMself was at the Tennis Center on Amelia Island Plantation (I find him there often). I took it to show the head pro, Scott Colebourne, and my excitement launched a little commercial. Everyone at the pro shop was really interested…even our Irish tennis playing friend Mike. See him with the box below…

Mike wants one

So far we are answering all our calls on the handset. When someone calls, my Good Call handset rings just like the iPhone. The calls are clear and the connection great! The best part is your iPhone does not need to docked in order to make and receive calls. I can have the handset upstairs and the iPhone downstairs and it still works. BIGGGGG thumbs up!!!

I am talking away on my new fave toy!!!Good Call iG1 bluetooth Handset

HIMself was feeling a bit left out with his Android. So I just open his bluetooth, connect to Good Call and the Bluetooth Handset worked with it too!!!

We don’t have a land line so I love that you can have the feel of a traditional phone while using the cell phones.
