I am excited to be one of the first to try the Good Call Bluetooth Handset for the iPhone. The Good Call Handset will be launched on June 19th at Good Call Website. When I first heard about it on the Social Fabric community, I was intrigued because it enables you to make and receive iPhone calls with a handset receiver. Being an oh so tech-savy Boomer Geek Girl, I wanted to understand this product and then share it with all my children who happen to love their iPhones too. It was a great opportunity to impress them with a not as yet released tech toy!! Those kids are hard to impress!!!And this would be an awesome Father’s Day gift for the Geek in your family!!!
Good Call Giveaway UPDATE
Comment #12 Elena is the Winner of my Giveaway!!! Congratulations
I will be giving one away to one lucky reader who leave a comment below telling me what you love about the Good Call…that’s all you need to do. I will pick a random number winner next Friday night!!!
I was waiting for the brown truck to arrive…my UPS driver posed for me (he knows all about my photo taking by now!!!)
The Good Call iG1
This iPhone bluetooth handset and iPhone docking station looks and acts like a landline receiver. The docking station also charges the iPhone while in the cradle and can sync the phone with iTunes. It does all this wirelessly with Bluetooth technology. Thumbs up!
It was time to give it a test run in my new house. I have a little problem with reception here. I sometimes miss calls because my phone does not ring. And I have a difficult time hearing the caller too. There is a volume control on the handset plus it is noise canceling. So I was anxious to see if this improved things a bit. It does…so that means a lot to me. Thumbs up!!!
I really hate to have long conversations on my cell phone. I am concerned about the amount of radiation plus it is just plain uncomfortable to hold for long periods. I prefer to have people on speaker, but that often is worse than holding the phone. I really don’t like headsets or earbuds either. I do like a handsfree mode for the ability to take notes while chatting. This is much easier on a handset. A big thumbs up on this front!!!
What’s in the Box
There are four parts in the Good Call iG1 package: a Bluetooth handset, the charging dock, an AC plug and an USB cord. You can connect the docking station to an electrical outlet or to your computer. That’s a cool feature. There is also a small user manual. It has 4 hours of battery life and a charge indicator. It works with any Bluetooth enabled device and is iPhone multitasking enabled. WOW!
Pairing the Good Call iG1 with My iPhone
It is so easy to get this working. In just a few minutes I was talking on the handset. There are just a few steps on this card…
- Plug the USB cable into the AC power adapter to power up the dock.
- Place the handset and iPhone into their respective positions in the docking station.
- Slide the switch at the bottom of the handset to on (that’s up)
- Press and hold the call button for a few seconds until it makes a startup sound.
- Go to iPhone settings, press bluetooth and Good Call appears in a few seconds.
- Select it.
watch this little movie I made to show how easy it is…
I was talking in a few minutes. I was so excited I was sharing with everyone. HIMself was at the Tennis Center on Amelia Island Plantation (I find him there often). I took it to show the head pro, Scott Colebourne, and my excitement launched a little commercial. Everyone at the pro shop was really interested…even our Irish tennis playing friend Mike. See him with the box below…
So far we are answering all our calls on the handset. When someone calls, my Good Call handset rings just like the iPhone. The calls are clear and the connection great! The best part is your iPhone does not need to docked in order to make and receive calls. I can have the handset upstairs and the iPhone downstairs and it still works. BIGGGGG thumbs up!!!
I am talking away on my new fave toy!!!
HIMself was feeling a bit left out with his Android. So I just open his bluetooth, connect to Good Call and the Bluetooth Handset worked with it too!!!
and HIMself was talking to our daughter within minutes…no more pouting…except we need another Good Call iG1 quickly!!!
HIMself and I give this product 5 thumbs up so far. If you want one, the Good Call iG1 Bluetooth headset will be launched next Tuesday, June 19th on Good Call Store.
Be sure to RSVP for the June 19th #GoodCall Twitter Party (http://bit.ly/GoodCallTP). They be giving away 2 units every 15 minutes during the party as well as 5 units prior to the party for people who help them promote the party ahead of time!

your iPhone does not need to docked in order to make and receive calls
I love that you don’t have to worry about getting cancer or frying your brain because of the radiation from cell phones!
The handset might work well for my hearing impaired husband!
We don’t have a land line so I love that you can have the feel of a traditional phone while using the cell phones.
This is so cool! I love it, and would get rid of my landline if I had this!
So can you pair your phone and the Android at the same time? I am very intrigued with this concept…
We FINALLY got rid of our land line so I would LOVE to have a phone that is easier to hold than my iphone!
I love that it can be used with nondocked Android phones!
I love that you can talk and it charges at the same time!
This would be a great gift for my son who has an iPhone but no home phone!.
I hear they work with iPads (with Skype) too!
I just love all this new technology. I think I was born 20 years to early.
so excited to see they work with Droids too!!! How cool!
I am now drooling over this!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!!! So excited to have one of these and be the first of my iFriends and iFamily to show it off!!!!
