Cars 2 (#gocars2) Party Planning at Target

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

my cart with party goods

I went to see Cars 2 on opening day with tickets I bought online from Fandango. It was a pretty easy process and there is also a Fandango app for iPhone or Android. See my review at Fandango.com.

What a fun movie, even for my hubby and I, sans kids. You can read the whole story here. We loved that movie so much, I am planning to throw a Cars 2 Party Night when the DVD is released…talk about planning ahead!!!

I gather movie party stuff as there is usually a plethora of cool products that appear in stores at release time. I can use these as cute table decorations, place cards, or just plain fun at the party. Cars 2 and Target did not disappoint!!!

We were in Target to pick up some last minute items for our 4th of July celebration. Hubby loves this Target because it has a Starbuck’s and he can enjoy a scone and Frappachino as we shop. Once we started to notice the Cars 2 merchandise, we couldn’t stop. Almost everywhere you look there was something Cars related. Hubby said, “They are going to make millions on this stuff!” DUH!!!

I thought I would share some of the items I picked up as well as some of the things I would love to buy for a grandson…if I had one!!!

bedding and beds...

I usually make my paper decorations but these are so darn cute I had to buy them…plates, napkins, cups, banners and even a pinata!!! You just pull the ribbons to break this one…you don’t have to whack at it with a stick…unless you want to!!!

We decided on the Cars 2 Monopoly Race Car game. We had to take it for a spin last night. It was a fun game and will entertain us for hours…

We also bought a Lightening McQueen soft toy that you toss and it talks…We spend the better part of yesterday tossing it back and forth…Here’s a little movie of him talking…

Mike had to have the Finn McMissle Aston Martin…with eyes.

I got the set of cars to use as place cards…

They have everything from Wii games to books, bedding to cereal, Legos to pajamas…and the toy selection is amazing…

All of these forms of transportation…cars, scooters, and even skates.

Plus a race track…notice the tire tracks on the floor…how cool is that?

Here is a little slide show of our Target/Cars 2 shopping adventure with loads more photos…Enjoy!!!

This is a fun movie for adults and kids…and purchase your tickets from Fandango…you will be glad you did
