I was one of the bloggers selected by T. Marzetti Company and Clever Girls Collective to host a Marzetti® Otria® Greek Yogurt Veggie Dip review on my blog. YUMMM!!! I love to cook and I love to eat good food, so this is definitely one of those lucky for me I am a blogger times!!
Marzetti Otria Greek Yogurt Veggie Dip will be a great addition to my holiday festivities this year. I usually make my own dips and sauces, but this one tastes just like homemade, so my guests will never know I didn’t slave over the chopping board for hours creating this delicious dip. The biggest upside for a hostess is that it will be so easy to serve…just open, pour into a cute serving dish, arrange veggies and you’re done. One thing crossed off my long list of to-dos before having guests over. That is always a big help…saving me time!!!
We chose to taste test the Otria Cucumber Dill Feta Greek Yogurt Veggie Dip. It has a very fresh fragrance when you open the lid. The dip presents well as it contains finely chopped dill and crumbles of feta cheese, so it looks good even before you dig in. We loved the bright taste of cucumber and dill combined with the tart flavor of Greek yogurt. Of course the feta is an added bonus. It has a well-balanced flavor profile with notes of dill ringing through. We really put it to the test as we enjoyed it with all kinds of veggies and snack crackers.
The best thing about the dip is that it has a great thick, creamy texture that stays on the veggies and does not drip. That is always a plus in a party situation…I won’t have to worry about messy dip spills everywhere. The dips come in five flavors: Cucumber Dill Feta, Chipotle Cheese, Salsa Cilantro, Herb Ranch, and Spinach Artichoke
The base is a thick Greek yogurt that I love. It contains milk and eggs and it is Gluten free. I have several friends who have problems with gluten allergies. As a hostess, you always worry if you will have something for them and vegetarians. This covers both of these groups well. It has 60 calories per two tablespoon serving.
Tasting this veggie dip gave me ideas for using it in recipes. You know I love to create original recipes. So what could I do with this? Of course I could use it as a spread on sandwiches and wraps…that would be awesome. I could also use it as a dressing on salads with some extra feta cheese crumbles…that would be delicious. But I could do so many other creative things with it.
I could see this as a coating for chicken, veal or fish before dipping in breadcrumbs or Panko, then oven baking it or lightly frying it, as we love to do here in the south. I could also envision using it in a layered veggie salad served in a beautiful trifle bowl. I think it would make wonderful side dishes served over pasta, English peas, spinach, mushroms or even Brussels sprouts. All were delicious!!!
Overall I would give Marzetti Otria Cucumber Dill Feta Greek Yogurt Veggie Dip three thumbs up. It was tasty, flavorful and convenient.
