Oh Christmas Tree – Oh Christmas Tree – Musical Christmas Tree
Music is a big part of my life and family tradition. Our family is musical…singers, dancers, instrumentalists, composers. You name it, we got it. My sons all sing. My daughter plays flute and piccolo and sings like an angel. HIMself plays the piano and is a music history buff. I play French Horn, trumpet, hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer and will dance until I drop (literally)! My Mother sang, danced and played piano. My Daddy sang beautiful harmonies. My Grandfather played an Irish fiddle and always had a song ready to sing. You get the picture…we love music.
As a tribute to all this musicality, I decorate a Christmas tree on my Mother’s piano. The photo below shows her playing her beloved piano…a first anniversary gift from my Father.
Here you can see all the musical ornaments I have collected through the years. None are very expensive, but they make the perfect statement atop the piano.
The Christmas tree is nestled among my favorite family photographs. When I sit at this piano, I smile as I remember all the cherished memories of those moments the photos were taken.
Beachyness continues here in the music room. Shells and starfish are placed over the book of Christmas carols. The First Noel is one of my favorites.
On the bench I display a worn copy of “Songs of Christmas” my Mother saved. It has all the words and music to the best carols. It is a colorful addition to the music room.
I picked up these Vietri Christmas tree candles at a thrift store last year. I love everything they make. Would so like to add some Vietri dishes to my collection. Santa are you listening?
One last decor tree stands on my drum. It is a natural material tree (I have no idea what exactly it is made from) painted gold. It shimmers in the light for just a touch of sparkle.
Oh, don’t mind the wallpaper. This is a rental home, so we can’t change it…but I would if I could!!! Tomorrow, my office Christmas trees!!!
