Madness, Miracles, Millions

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

I received a copy of the book to facilitate this review. The opinions are my own.

Madness, Miracles, Millions

A book by Joseph Semprevivo and Larry Semprevivo

For every terrible event that happened that day, a miracle followed close behind. That would be the theme of our lives from that point on. Our blessings were always the rainbow after a terrible storm.

Rainbows After a Terrible Storm

As a storyteller and a survivor of many a terrible storm, I was captivated by the hard-fought journey of Joseph, Josephine and Larry Semprevivo in Madness, Miracles, Millions. It is a good book to curl up with on a winter afternoon.
I love a story of true grit and determination with ordinary people living not so ordinary lives in the best way possible. You will be inspired by this father and son memoir as you follow them through madness wrapped in miracles and see how they turned it into millions.

It is not a get rich quick scheme book. It does not offer a promise of riches or even hint that you too could become a millionaire. It follows their often-catastrophic family stories and how they overcame the obstacles each presented. They worked together as a family to overcome personal illnesses, near fatal accidents and financial set-backs to accomplish success.
I especially love the organic way the family business came to be. This business was not planned, nor was it even in the minds of Joseph’s parents when it just happened. A true story of necessity being the mother of invention. You will be motivated to reach for your dreams.
“Be inspired, encouraged and motivated. I was.” Debbie Macomber, #1 New York Times Best Selling Author
Perhaps my favorite words from the book are:

What I would like to leave you with and what I believe that Joseph’s Lite Cookies is symbolic for is this: life is full of good and bad no matter who you are; because of this, it isn’t our circumstances or what happens to us by chance that will make or break us, it is what we do in response to the situations that arise in life. My accident, a bankrupt business, Joseph’s diabetes, my wife’s back-to-back near fatal health conditions; all of these things I and my family could have faltered to, but we didn’t. We started where we could, worked together, and battled our way out of everything.
