Dan Simon has been in the paint industry for 32 years. He is the executive vice president and national sales manager for the Paint & Decorating Retailer Association, a trade association for independent paint store owners. The association publishes two magazines: Paint & Decorating Retailer, which is a magazine for paint store retailers, and The Faux Finisher, which is a magazine for faux and decorative artisans.

Diane Capuano is the executive editor of the Paint & Decorating Retailer Association’s two magazines: Paint & Decorating Retailer and The Faux Finisher. She started out with Paint & Decorating Retailer more than 25 years ago and helped launch The Faux Finisher magazine 11 years. She has interviewed and met with dozens of decorative artisans over the past decade, learning about their inspirations, talents and creative processes.
