It is time for me to Regroup and Reassess After The Summer Simplifying Challenge – time to design my own tomorrow. As I look back over the 90 days of summer 2014, I smile. I smile because I did something amazing for myself and my family. I began the process of letting go of a lot of things…material possessions as well as physical, mental, spiritual, emotional clutter. It feels good to be in this space, this place of calm acceptance and peace.
Regroup
The 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge is a job well done. I started small, with baby steps I could managed each day. At the end of 90 days, I had accomplished a massive amount of clearing. That clearing gave me space to breathe and think more rationally about what kind of future I wanted. I know it does not include moving huge amounts of stuff again. So this is a place to start.
While I am getting in touch with my inner warrior, I plan to focus on my strengths, talents, and perseverance. I Regroup and Reassess as I have been working this challenge…hard! I am smart, I am creative, and I am a problem solver. I know, deep down, I have all the tools to succeed.
I also know that life does not wait for you to get your act together. It moves right along, with or without your permission. The Chinese proverb – “Fall down seven times, get up eight,” fits beautifully. Sometimes there is no time for Plan B, to reflect or regroup. In our quick-fix, fast moving, success driven, noise filled world we hardly have time to breathe and eat. Eating well is almost an anomaly. Ahhhh, but I have given myself this pause–a time to review and reassess.
Reassess
There is no magical way to simplify your life. For me, it was small tasks I could do each day. This kept me focused, on tack and out of overwhelm. Purging was difficult initially, but became easier as I began to see results. So I am adopting this model moving forward.
Small Daily Tasks = SUCCESS!
Taking a moment to breathe is crucial for the clarity needed to execute my strategy. This breathing time will allow me to reevaluate where I am today and build a solid plan of action to achieve my future goals.
While I am regrouping and reassessing, I often close my eyes and focus on breathing…deeply. I ask for clarity and focus on the things that matter in life. I prioritize what’s most important. These few seconds ensure a steady stream of sanity and remind me that I have ALL the power.
Live Life Intentionally
Getting very clear on this is important because it will enable me to live my life on purpose. Think about that for a moment. I grabbed a cup of my favorite Plantation Mint tea and pondered. Living life on purpose and with intention. How great is that concept?
As I Regroup and Reassess, I am aware that the Summer Simplifying Challenge gave me confidence. I am more confident in Who I am and I am better able to design the life I want to live.
How are you designing the life you want to live?
