Monday Marketing Minute #41 Twitter Demystified Series

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

This is Part 7 in a series of 10 MM Minutes about Demystifying Twitter.

A strong brand is invaluable to artists. Twitter is one of the quickest ways to build brand recognition for you and your art business. A strong and recognizable creative brand is invaluable to an artist and serves to communicate credibility to your prospective collectors and buyers and other artists as well.

We have learned about your @Name, Profile picture and bio, and Twitter and Your Website. This week we learn:

The All Important Re-Tweet

The Retweet/RT @Re-tweeting: How cool is this? If you see a Tweet you like, you just click the reTweet link below the tweet and Twitter automatically posts it to your feed. It has the letters RT at the front indicating that you are “reTweeting” someone else’s post.  You always want to clearly indicate who wrote the original by adding their @name. It is a super way to gain the attention of other artists, an art gallery or someone influencial. They may just follow you back. The re-tweet is best of the best way to connect. You not only show how useful you are to your followers, you also show that you are willing to help other artists.

Action Step: Look for valuable info within the tweets you receive and start to re-tweet.
