I have finally found my ever after career and something to devote my life to. At times this wrecks havoc with my ever after life and my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge. A Recovering Magpie’s Ever After Dreams
I gave myself permission to be a little lazy today. I put in a 14 hour day at work yesterday. I tossed and turned last night thinking about work today. So I am tired.
{Coming clean} I am a little unbalanced with life and work!! I have a strong work ethic and I hate to miss a deadline. So sometimes, I work too hard, too long and too much. I have asked my boss for help with this as she is pretty good at balance. I admire that in her!
It’s a daunting task, starting a new career at my age. There is so much of me that is undiscovered by the world, by my company and even by myself. I have, however, found my ever after career and something to devote my life to –eLearning! Devoting my hours to bring knowledge to others is rewarding. I have things to be passionate about, which is a blessing at any age.
I awake every morning excited about the nearly 6 impossible things I must handle before breakfast but, unlike the White Rabbit, I do not dread them. I can work into the night or over a weekend without resentment because I know we are making history and building a lasting resource for my beloved bloggers.
I have a goal. I have a mission. I have something I believe in. Balance, however, is the cost!
I will look back on this in twenty years and smile…knowing I was part of something world changing. I hope I will also look back and remember the life I built outside of my career. This is the balance I seek.
My Summer Simplifying Challenge
The Baby Steps are progressing and soon I expect to see the progress. My 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge is a good thing.
Today’s Accomplishments
- Boxes (PLURAL) opened, sorted and things placed into the ‘outta here’ boxes!
- Household cleaning tasks continue.
Today’s Setbacks
- The chase for ever-elusive Balance.
Himself Speaks: I am impressed that Rebecca is really following through on this. There is light and the end of the tunnel after all! Keep up the positive attitude and it will get easier day to day.
