Angel Wood Cottage Spring Mantle #SwingIntoSpring

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

Swing Into Spring blog hap #SwingIntoSpring

I am doing Swing Into Spring blog hop #swingintospring with many other DIY bloggers this week. I am hoping to participate in each day’s fun. Today’s link party is Mantles with Craftberry Bush. Come join in the fun and visit all the other bloggers and see the amazing mantle ideas for spring.

DESIGNER’S NOTE: I am so not a white all over the house person. I love color and need it to make me happy (creative artist personality speaking). I grew up in an all white shrine…so, even though I admire those who have embraced that style, I am way over here in technicolor land…marching to a different drummer! So come on over and look at the other side for a moment…

My Favorite Things Spring Mantle

Of course, I am thrilled to share my new home with my readers. I have named her “Angel Wood Cottage” for many reasons. So I thought the first mantle vignette should reflect her in a big way and include some of my favorite things. I love to include my own art on my mantlescapes. I placed my three ‘Spring Angel’ paintings as the focal point. They are watching over our home and us this Spring. They really brighten up the dark mantle with their beautiful spring hues of blue, pink and purple.

Here is a view of the bunting I created from six different fat quarters in spring patterns and colors. I will share how it is made during craft day on Wednesday along with a few of my book page flowers.

More Spring colors shine from my favorite angel statues on the right side of the mantle. I paired them with my beloved teapot given to me by the Bigelow’s last year. Yes that would be The Bigelow tea makers! (I am the #1 fan of Bigelow Plantation Mint tea.) The tea pot brings back lovely memories of our time together in Charleston last spring. The birds which grace the teapot are a beautiful sign of spring, so this had to be included in the vignette. Below is another view including the sassy angel in pink.

I also included two tiny teapots used to play tea party with my granddaughter. The veggies symbolize Spring and renewal. I also include some of my aqua glass bottle collection, some tiny hydrangeas vases and a cute little cabinet that is painted in the same colorway as the angels.

On the hearth are some of my hand-painted and hand-crafted flowers. They are so cute and colorful…they just make me happy.
