Bring the Beach Tropical Sangria Recipe!

Bring the Beach Tropical Sangria Recipe Glasses in the sand

We love beach-inspired entertaining here on Amelia Island. My guests often request that I make a batch of Sangria. I love to get creative with Sangria and my homemade sangria recipe is just that. My Sweet & Spicy Sangria is assembled in Mason Jars, which are easy to transport to the beach.

This time I decided a little tropical flavor was in order. I thought mango, papaya, and pineapple would add a twist to some berries and the always present fresh Florida oranges. It turned out much better than I imagines during the recipe creation process.

I also decided I would serve my Sangria in tall glassware from Wayfair. The Signature Stinson 15 oz. Cooler Glass were just perfect. I love that they are Made in the USA. The description says the glasses possess, “unprecedented brightness, clarity, and resilience.” I love the substantial base that keeps them upright on the sand. Plus they showcase my Bring the Beach Tropical Sangria beautifully.

INGREDIENTS
Mango, cubed
Papaya, cubed
Pineapple, chunks
Blueberries
Raspberries
Oranges, sliced
1 bottle Tempranillo (Red) Wine
1-1/2 Cups Pomegranate Juice
1-1/2 Cups Cherry Juice
1/2 Cup Triple Sec

PREPERATION
Open the wine, pour into glass pitcher. Add the fruit and allow to rest overnight in the refrigerator. This enables the fruit to infuse the wine with sweetness. You can add sugar to the fruit before mixing with wine, but I prefer to let the sweetness of the fruit work its magic without additional sweeteners.

The next day, I mottle the fruit with a large wooden spoon to totally infuse the wine with the tropical fruit flavors. I strain the wine into another glass pitcher. Then add the juices and the Triple Sec. Stir to mix.

Packing for the Beach

I load the cooler with about three inches of ice. Then I sink the glasses, filled with about 2 inches of fruit, to chill them well. Once we get our toes in the sand, I pour the Sangria over the fruit, pop in a couple of straws, and serve with cookies or scones. It is a delicious, fun, and beautifully refreshing drink.

I thank Wayfair Homemakers for giving me the challenge to create a new Bring the Beach Tropical Sangria Recipe! HIMself and I loved the new drink and the beautiful new glasses. Let me know how you like the cocktail.
