I am enjoying my Irish coffee this week in my Irish Coffee mugs that a beloved Irish friend gave me long ago. Here’s to you Eileen!! I miss you!!! My family recipe is below…
Ingredients
- cup of fresh brewed coffee
- 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
- shot of your favorite Irish whiskey
- heavy whipping cream
Technique
Whip the heavy whipping cream until it hold stiff peaks. You can add sugar if you like. Refrigerate to chill. Brew fresh coffee as you like it. Mix in the whiskey and sugar, stir until the sugar dissolves. Gently drop a dallop of whipped cream over the back of a spoon into the coffee to help the cream float rather sink. It should not break the surface of the coffee but float on top!!!
