Monday Marketing Minute #33 Art Marketing

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

Monday Marketing Minute

“If you don’t have a website you are invisible. Not just hard to contact, invisible.” Lori McNee, Artist and one of the Top 100 Most Powerful Women on Twitter

For any artist a website is a must…a blog is even better.

Social media is already changing the rules of the marketplace and the way we do business big time. We are more savvy consumers…we don’t want heavy sales pitches or social media hogwash; however, we do want to interact and connect. People feel differently about an artist/crafter/brand that they can interact with via social media.

56% said yes that they feel a stronger connection with a business/artist/crafter they can interact with via social networks and 57% say that they feel better served.

The takeaway for artists/crafters is: You will build a loyal following if prospective buyers and collectors can interact with you, watch you work and learn about your process.
