Spring Cleaning Swap Party with Breezy Buffet

This might just be my favorite of favorites!!! Perhaps your shelves are filled to capacity, requiring a paring down or you may realize some of your things no longer hold your interest. A swap party offers the opportunity to enjoy a meal with friends and gain some new cherished items while getting rid of a few.  (Each individual should bring the same number of items.) Set up a long table in the yard on which guest can deposit their possessions, arranged by category–silver, dishes, glassware, linens. In the event of rain, have an alternate location in mind. When everything is in place, serve a light buffet lunch pot-luck style!!!

Summer Picnic Party

Fresh-made pies, ice cream, and frosty drinks take pride of place at this Fourth of July picnic. Set up the table in a shady spot for guests to enjoy an array of fresh-made pies. Here is a chance to use that vintage lace-edged white tablecloth. Make it party perfect with a colorful piece of material thrown over the white is a yard or two of striped cotton ticking — that matches your theme. Finish by adorning each plate with a party favor flag.

A Hoedown

Set the mood with cornstalks, straw bales, and bandannas. Food is prepared ahead and then served cold at a help-yourself station. Three table sare covered with simple, inexpensive burlap. Railroad lanterns provide illumination as night falls. During a break from dancing, guests chat with neighbors over a plate of buttermilk fried chicken and herbed biscuits.
