My Halloween 50 ft Party EERie Soirée Tablescape

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

So usually I like to go all out for Halloween…with fun, games, costumes and loads of food. This year I decided to go a different route…and create a more intimate party for my girlfriends. It will be an oh so sophisticated Halloween party with a black and lime green color palette…The Eerie Soirée!

eerie soiree invitation Halloween I was challenged to create a beautiful tablescape with items from KMart. I had an idea in mind when I set out on my shopping adventure…shopping is always an adventure for me. So I made this little video for your enjoyment to see how my mind works while on the hunt for ideas.

Enjoy shopping with me at KMart…

I knew I was looking for black and white decor with a hint of lime green for a punch of color. I was thrilled by what I found in Kmart. I look in the seasonal sections, but I also shop the entire store. One of the first things I found was black bath scrubbies…ahaa, I could uncoil them and weave them around my table. Score!!!

I have an old birdcage I intended to use as the centerpiece and lo and behold I found a raven to fit inside…”Nevermore.”

The piece de resistance of the tablescape is the lime green spider web that stretches to 19 feet, 240 SF. I draped it over the black tablecloth for a very festive effect.

I dropped black spiders (inexpensive favor rings) strategically around the table with green glass stones used in floral decorations.

There is a faux mercury glass pumpkin that casts a cool glow over the table.

I used PhotoShop to create some awesome wrappers to glue on plain white candles…

and to create eerie wine labels for the wine.

I bought white square plates and black plastic plates for the table with black napkins that I added the party logo to. Each guest has a handmade pearl bracelet to leave with!!!

I could go on forever…I hope this gives you some EERie ideas for your Halloween bash!!! Everything you see on this table (except the birdcage & bracelets) was found at KMart and cost under $40.  That is a deal for a 50 ft. Party!!!

Remember that frame I bought at Kmart? Here is what I did with one of my faces, a can of Krylon Lookign Glass paint and some imagination…

I will show you how to do this next week!!!

Ooh, I can’t wait for the mirror tutorial! The spooky portraits are my favorite thing from all the Halloween shops… I am in love with your birdcage, too. Unusual shape! We used to have a pet crow, I’ll tell you about it someday!

[…] by Rebecca E. Parsons I love to decorate for Halloween, inside and out!!! This year’s outdoor decor became The Haunted Welcome. How do I think of these things? Well, I found some old tree branches with leaves still clinging to them…which started the ideas coming. I would make a haunted welcome forest just the size of children. See my inside decor here. […]
