Review – The Gospel of Matthew by Alabaster!

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

I was given a complimentary copy of the book from Frontgate Media. All opinions are my own.

The Gospel of Matthew by Alabaster!

The Gospel of Matthew is a beautifully done and visually appealing book. Alabaster has done an amazing job designing this softcover book. It is sleek and contemporary in look and feel. The design colors are very fresh in gray and white. It is a Bible Book for everyone with appeal for young especially. It makes a fabulous coffee table book that can open conversations about faith.

The Gospel of Matthew Cover

It is great for gift giving. It does not look or feel like a Bible, yet inside is the full text of the New Living Translation of the book of Matthew. It is a reimagined modern version, is fun to read and almost too pretty to highlight and/or write in. I am still making a decision about that. But the paper weight is good for highlighting and there is plenty of room for making notes and writing. You can see this well in the collage of pages below.

Inside The Gospels of Matthew

The layout is more of a book with Large Chapter numbers that tell you exactly where you are. Verse numbers are included so you can easily find what you want to read. I think The Gospel of Matthew makes it easy to read the Bible. You can pick it up at any time and connect with God.

The imagery and photos are stunning. Each is thoughtful and thought provoking as well. Some may be stock images, but they are done well. It allows you to really engage and visualize the events. It took me to the actual place to walk beside Jesus, the Disciples, and the people who surrounded His ministry.

Of course, my favorite verse in The Beatitudes. The mountain image help my prayerful meditation and reflection.
