Today I spent time refocusing as overwhelm threatened my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge. Progress in my studio is slow and frustration engulfed me. I had to revisit my Summer Simplifying Challenge & Manifesto and regroup and refocus.

A Recovering Magpie’s Refocuses
Goodness, I need reinforcements. During my meditations this morning God sent them…to help save my Summer Simplifying Challenge. God always sends reinforcements when I need them. I love how that works. Two things happened to uplift my waning spirit:
- I read Francis de Sales words, “Every Christian needs a half-hour of prayer each day, except when he is busy; then he needs an hour.” –See more at Ignation Spirituality
- A comment on yesterday’s post by Michelle of Evie’s Tool: “I embraced this 15 years ago and to this day it feels fabulous! It will for you too! To own only the things that enhance #1 above.”
{Coming clean} I almost gave up. I whined yesterday as every now and then I must. It was hot (111 heat index), I had loads of work/meetings and I had a headache. So I did not do anything toward my goal. Today I am being gentle on myself and accepting that I have 90 days to make a difference and change my life. Baby steps…
Today’s Accomplishments
- Box opened, sorted and things placed into the ‘outta here’ boxes!
- I decided to tackle the studio only on the weekends.
- Household cleaning tasks continue.
Today’s Setbacks
- HIMself does not want to write his comments any more. He says he has said everything he can about the subject. So I accept that and move on.
