Week four is under way. Moving on from the studio today in my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge. I pam back to boxes from the garage. HIMself says a big dent has been made in the garage. Read about the goals in my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Manifesto!!
A Recovering Magpie’s Adjusts
As we start week four, I stood back and assessed the accomplishments. Although I had to make a big mess in order to clear some areas, things are starting to improve. I can see some progress. So I adjust my thinking today.
{Coming clean} I am sometimes very hard on myself. I need to give myself a break. I am not as young as I feel inside. I have the will to move faster, work harder…yadda, yadda, yadda. But I can no longer do things at that speed without hurting myself. My back is not happy. I lifted some heavy boxes and I am paying the price. Learning and accepting my limitations has always been difficult for me. My spine was badly injured when I broke my neck in my early 20s. I am in pain at all times. I have learned to live with it. But sometimes I push myself beyond my limits and I suffer more.
I wish I had a pool here. The only time I am not in pain is when I float in a pool. That is bliss. I am really not complaining, just talking it out. I must adjust my timeline a little. The 90 days will be enough, but I was pushing, pushing. Not necessary…
My Summer Simplifying Challenge
The Baby Steps are working. I had a hard time adjusting to the vision with all the chaos I created trying to clear things. However, my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge moves forward. I am on time and on track. I must remember this.
Today’s Accomplishments
- Boxes (PLURAL) opened, sorted and things placed into the ‘outta here’ boxes!
- Household cleaning tasks continue.
- Acceptance.
Today’s Setbacks
- I am too hard on myself. Pushing beyond what needs to be pushed.
