I wrote yesterday that my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge is about growth and transformation. It is about my mission of healing and education. It is a road less traveled by me until now. As I heal, I share with others my path. Read my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Manifesto!!
A Recovering Magpie’s Seeds of the New Me
I will be answering this question {What is that essential core of who I am that brought me to this crossroads?} over the next few weeks.
{Coming clean} I suffer from disordered affections. If you know me you know I live my life as connected to God as I can. I am a very spiritual person. I use the prayer principles of Ignatian Spirituality and Loyola’s Spiritual Exercises to keep me grounded. I have been called to serve in my own unique way the mission of healing and education. This challenge is part of that mission.
My disordered affections – the holding onto my stuff – have led me here, today and tomorrow clearing away the years of disorder. I no longer view this as a chore…it has become my private journey into freedom and grace. I will no longer be smothered by the weight of years of holding on. I am finding growing edges of myself and it feels good.
My Summer Simplifying Challenge
I am gently pruning and editing each day. Taking the baby steps of my Summer Simplifying Challenge to grow beyond the love of things to a love of who I am. I was called to do this 90-Days for me and for others. Through my healing, I am hopefully educating others that simplicity is possible even for the most disordered. I smile…
Today’s Accomplishments
- One box opened, sorted and things placed into the ‘outta here’ boxes!
- Household cleaning tasks continue.
Today’s Setbacks
- I delayed the box opening until after I played today! It is best to do it before!
