90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge ~ Day 41 {motivated}

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

Momentous results often emerge from one motivated individual. This girl wants the simple life I am working toward during the 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge.  Read my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Manifesto!!

A Recovering Magpie’s Motivation

My continuing motivation for  this 90-Day Summer Simplifying Challenge stems from considering, internalizing, and shaping my mission. When  motivation fades, I re-read my 90-Day Summer Simplifying Manifesto!!  No mission is motivating until it is personal. The search for a simpler life has become a reflexive, daily habit. It is sustainable when it becomes habitual.

{Coming clean} The motivation wanes at times! It seems to diminish and fade before I realize. That is the time to recommit to the mission. I love this quote from Finding God in All Things: A Marquette Prayer Book ©2009 Marquette University Press.

Fall in Love

Attributed to Fr. Pedro Arrupe, SJ (1907–1991)

Nothing is more practical than finding God, than falling in Love in a quite absolute, final way.
What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect everything.
It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, whom you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.
Fall in Love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.

My Summer Simplifying Challenge

I am motivated by my Summer Simplifying Challenge and seeing the Seeds of the New Me sprout. I continue to grow as I move forward on this journey.

Today’s Accomplishments

  1. One box opened, sorted and things placed into the ‘outta here’ boxes!
  2. Household cleaning tasks continue.

Today’s Setbacks

  1. It was difficult dealing with the contents of today’s box. I did not want to deal with the contents.
