DIY Makeover My Lanai Continued…Painting with #GliddenGallons

Back in May I did a post showcasing my lanai makeover. As with anything creative, ughhh, there is usually a downside. My beautiful new furnishings revealed an ugly secret…I needed to freshen up the paint!!!

I was so excited to share this makeover…which surely belongs in the pages of Southern Living!! It was an amazing transformation! To fully understand my sheer delight…you must see this sad looking mess…

This has been a crazy two weeks. I just returned from BlogHER and a two week stay with my son in California. It was a great adventure I will be sharing during the next two weeks; however, while I was away my trusty blogging companion, BIG MAC, had become very ill and died in my arms at the Apple Store last Thursday!!! While I mourn the loss and save my pennies for a new hard drive, I have found solace in what I love to do…a DIY paint and makeover. I have turned my attention to my home and the final touches to complete my outdoor space in style.

This is what my lanai looks like today…the photos speak for themselves!!! The furnishings are amazing but the walls not so much….they are the dull pinkish beige that is so not me.

I decided on yummy ocean colors to cool the lanai on these oh-so-hot-and-humid Florida days. Will it be Tropical Lagoon, Bermuda Bay or Caribbean Sea? I don’t even know right now…I do know, however, that I love the Glidden Room Visualizer as it so helps me decide which colors go together well…and I can experiment to my hearts delight!!! I also love how you can flip the card right on the screen to see coordinating colors. Glidden makes it easy for even the most color-shy person to pick colors that will delight them when applied.

The very best part of the Glidden website is that you can print out a shopping list for your project. It includes everything you need to complete your project as designed in the room visualizer. It makes it very easy to know what you are doing and helps you remember all the items you will need to complete the project with ease. Then you will find that Walmart is your one stop shop for ALL the items on your list. What a great combination – Glidden Paint and Walmart…a Do It Youself ( DIY ) dream team.

Also, I love the Glidden Testers #GliddenTesters pictured here. They make it so easy to make a color choice. They contain enough of the paint to cover 3SF. Walmart offers over 300 pre-tinted colors in select super center stores and limited selections in most smaller stores. I would call before I made the trip to locate a store with the full line of testers.
