2015 Holiday Home Tour – Kitchen Christmas Tree

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

Angel Wood Cottage – Kitchen Christmas Tree

Home is where my heart is happy. Nowhere am I happier than in our little Angel Wood Cottage on Amelia Island. Decorating her has been a journey of a thousand steps. You watched as we moved in last January. You watched as I simplified my life for 90-Days this summer. You have seen the gatherings we have hosted by the lake. Now is the time to take you on a little tour of the rooms as we have the for the holidays.

First is my beloved kitchen. Oh what joy this room brings to me. Our pint-sized kitchen in out villa was just big enough for one. I managed to entertain and create some rollickin’ meals in there…but here I can spread my kitchen joy around.

As you will see during this home tour, I like trees. I have them in every room. Some are my beloved cone trees and some are real trees and some are faux…but all are loved and decorated with care. Here is my kitchen tree decorated with tiny children’s housewares, utensils, cookie cutters, pots and pans, etc. loving collected through the years at estate sales, garage sales, thrift stores.

Oh how I love the hunt. It is so much fun to find a tiny piece that will adorn my kitchen tree. Each year I try to add a new find…sometimes I add several {insert sheepish grin here}. So enough said…I will just let you see what tiny treasures cover the tree.

My Favorite Treasures on the Kitchen Christmas Tree

Oh this little beauty…a hand beater with a red handle. It actually works and was probably from a little girl’s learning set.

And this tiny (one inch tall) rooster cookie cutter came home with me about 40 years ago from France. I have collected roosters since I studied muraling and decorative painting in Lyon when I was but a child. I have made many cookies with him and count him among my most prized possessions.

Tomorrow my breakfast nook decor and tree!!! Happy Holidays!

[…] Angel Wood Cottage is my Well-Collected Home™ lovingly decorated with finds and treasures from our wanderings. Here is my beloved Kitchen Christmas tree. I am attracted to anything in miniature. I love tiny kitchen tools and gadgets and have amassed quite a few over the years of scouring thrift stores and estate sales. A few years ago, I decided to place some of them on a little tree on the kitchen island. A new Christmas Tradition was born. Read about it here. […]
