The Rank Game Review & Giveaway

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

I was given a prototype kit of The Rank Game for review! All opinions are my own.

THE RANK GAME by Storyastic is Easy and FUN to play! It is designed to engage the diverse backgrounds, interests, personalities, and opinions of every player. By celebrating each person’s individualism, THE RANK GAME actually brings people together, through rich conversation and competition. My family loves friendly competition!

People Playing The Rank Game

This brain stimulating game is created for groups of all sizes. THE RANK GAME leverages our own social behaviors—ranking the things or experiences in our lives.

How to Play

In THE RANK GAME, players must guess one another’s rankings to get points and win the game. IT’S THAT SIMPLE. Here is one of the questions. Rank the four seasons:
A) Fall  B) Spring   C) Summer D) Winter

Of course, Spring is my time. Fall is HIMselfs. Your ranking will most probably be different from ours. The resulting conversation is likely to be passionate about your why. It really gets you interacting with each other. You learn something about the other people. And the biggest plus, it gets everyone off their devices and TALKING with one another in eye-to-eye, real world gameplay!! YAY!

You can play the game in several different modes. Two people can play in a get to know each other Icebreaker Mode. No scores. Everybody wins.

The 3+ people Spotlight Mode allows individual players to guess other people’s ranks.

Teams of 2 Mode is where your team up with another and learn about your teammate as well as the other team.

Two Teams of 6+ people is great for big family gatherings or business bashes.

Game Colors

  • The Rank Game Box
  • The Rank Game Box Back

I love the colors of the game design. The team says, “The colors used in the game are designed to evoke nostalgia for the simple games of the players’ youth.” The designers sought out consumer insights on the colors and ideas through the research process.

THE RANK GAME is the first of five new games currently in production or development by Storyastic. The first inventory has already been ordered and is expected to ship in January. The designers are Dana Brown, a former Walt Disney Imagineer, and Chip Brown, a former Disney Studios producer and Christian publisher.

THE RANK GAME is easy to play at home, on long car trips, on the beach, at a restaurant… ANYWHERE! The game quickly gets people off their phones. People actually get to know each other better.  Friends, families, corporate groups, or church groups use it to facilitate conversation and “break the ice” at social gatherings. I cannot wait to play this with my family over the holidays.
