Boomer Geek Girl Review ~ Motorola Photon 4G SmartPhone #MotoCalyp

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

I have been looking at cell phones and tablets lately trying to narrow down my options. I always head online first to research any new product, but especially electronics. I was recently asked to review the Motorola Photon 4G smartphone. As you can see it is a beauty…I love those rounded edges.

I started my research on the Internet.

Motorola Photon 4G website

I found out that…

Motorola PHOTON 4G Lightening Fast – Intense Power

The website says; “Many have claimed it, Motorola PHOTON 4G delivers. With a 1GHz dual-core processor and 4G speed, you’ll quickly see the power a perfect pairing makes. Watch movies, browse the web and view documents on a vivid 4.3” qHD touch display the way you’ve imagined – impossibly fast, with absolutely no interruptions. Now the only reason you’ll miss anything is because you want to.” To see for yourself check out the Motorola Photon 4G. Buy Now & Get Free 2-day Shipping.

I absolutely want 4G speed and convenience. That is a no brainer. On Sprint’s 4G network, Motorola PHOTON 4G is up to 10 times faster than phones on 3G networks. I also like that it is safe and secure with revolutionary business-ready functionality, like data encryption and remote device management. So I am off to the Sprint store to see for myself.

At the Sprint Store

Ryan and Rex showed me the Motorola PHOTON 4G and allowed me to work with it and take pictures. I was surprised by the light weight of the phone. Mine is much heavier because it has a keyboard. I am really not good with touch pad keyboards, but Rex showed me that this phone has an intuitive slide feature where you just glide your finger across the keyboard and it intuitively give you options. It took a few practices to get the feel of this, but it is amazing when you get it!!! See my shopping experience in photos here.

It has a special camera button that I like. Photon has also a front-facing camera for video calls. However, it does not have the latest version of Google Talk integrated for video chatting.

Motorola Photon 4G smartphone kickstandI also liked the kickstand. It is not something typical for most of the Motorola phones, but it works well if you want to watch movies. It is on the reverse side of the phone.  While the phone is on the kickstand it automatically switches to landscape orientation, and the largest central clock widget appears on the screen.

The Photon uses Android 2.3 technology and user interface. You can update your status on Facebook and Twitter which I love.

The guys were knowledgeable and helpful. Sprint has a great plan where it is really unlimited and never slows down or changes no matter how many hours or gigabites you use!!!  Love that!! The Motorola Photon 4G Smartphone is a really powerful and high-quality device, equipped with all the necessary features for modern communication. It has a large display and the sound quality of the call is pretty good. Buy Motorola PHOTON 4G Now & Get Free 2-day Shipping.

I love the kickstand! My husband and I were recently looking at cell phones and I noticed that the new Galaxy tablets have little “regular” keyboards you can use with them. So excited about that!
