LIght 2017 Word of the Year

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

Light 2017

Light 2017 word of Year

Sending Divine Blessings of Love & Light

This will be my year to Rise and Shine. I have so much to do and so much I want to do. 2017 will have the light to show me the way.

Each year in November I do a Year in Review Retreat. I look back at the past year and reflect. I ask myself:

  • Where do I sense hope, encouragement, and growth areas in my life?
  • What were the highlights?
  • What are the growing edges?
  • Who helped me achieve my goals?

By looking back over the last year, I am able to see which activities and occasions have produced rich fruit. I make an effort to give those areas both time and space in the coming year.

I also look at the disquiet and rough edges by asking:

  • What did not work as planned?
  • Why did this happen?
  • What lessons did I learn?

Part of this grace-filled time is choosing a word as a theme for the following year. I have been dong this since 2008. This year I looked back over my words and noted the profound affect each had on my life.

2008 – HOPE – It was a year of trials. We moved back to Florida from Georgia. HIMself became ill and I lost my job as Editor of my beloved The Artistic Stenciler magazine. I struggled to find hope in any way I could. My faith and my Spiritual Direction studies carried me.

2009 – GROW – Grow I did…through trials. The world seemed to be closing in on me. I discovered plenty of growing edges to explore. God gave me the time to explore them. I started my little radio show called Artistically Speaking Talk Show.

2010 – REINVENTION – A rebuilding year for me launching Cre8tive Compass Magazine and meeting a pivotal person, Jennifer Tuma-Young. Jenn calls it an appointment. That it surely was.

2011 – SOAR – Oh my what a year to soar as I became a frequent flyer. My dear Jenn introduced me to this little group called Social Fabric. I joined and found a home and much needed hope. By fall I had a contract job with their parent company Collective Bias. I lost a lot this year, but gained so much more.

2012 – LEAP – I leaped headfirst into the year with joy and a determination not to look back. We moved into my peaceful sanctuary on the Plantation. HIMself broke his ankle and I learned just how strong I am. I delightfully created magazines for CB, walked the marshes in meditation and thrived in leaps and bounds.

2013 – BALANCE – I gave myself the gift of time this year to take care of myself emotionally and spiritually.

2014 –EPIC ABUNDANCE – I stepped up my game as I reached for security. I believe deeply that there is enough for everyone. I was open to all the good and abundance the universe has to offer as I set my intention to unearth EPIC ABUNDANCE in my life and business in 2014.

2015 – GRATITUDE – So many blessings flowed into my life in 2014. I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude for my life. Living within GRATITUDE for every little blessing and ever big blessing and all those in between blessings, has delivered me to this place.

2016 – BE – It was my year to BE and consume my Vitamin BEs. Vitamin BE YOU, Vitamin BE Creative, Vitamin BE Purposeful, Vitamin BE Unique, Vitamin BE Productive, Vitamin BE Resourceful, Vitamin BE Visionary, Vitamin BE ProActive, Vitamin BE Different,   Vitamin BE Talkative, Vitamin BE Blogging, Leap Year Extra – Vitamin BE Soulful

2017 –
